Choose to #BETHEDIFFERENCE in the lives of our youth experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness and purchase a Box of Hope.
There is more hope than you can imagine in a single box.
Our Boxes of Hope campaign provides gift packages at Christmas to youth who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in our community.
Residents can purchase a box for $50.
Funds raised from each purchase will be used to buy items that our youth need including gift cards, gloves, winter hats, hygiene products, toiletries, bus tokens, and more!
In 2020, our Boxes of Hope campaign raised over $55,000. 2021 has proven to be yet another challenging year because of COVID-19. After 18-months at a hotel, the emergency shelter at Youth Haven was reopened to youth and staff in September. Throughout this pandemic, our staff have worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and health of our youth in emergency, transitional and outreach care, maintaining programs in Barrie, Orillia, and across Simcoe County. COVID-19 did not diminish the need for our services in 2021.
There is no place like home for the holidays. For many of the youth in our care, that isn’t possible at Christmas. Youth Haven is their home, and as a community, we can #bethedifference this holiday season.
1 in 3 people using emergency shelter services in Barrie-Orillia-Simcoe County are youth.
“Do you know this is the first time in several years that someone has given me a Christmas present?”
