Choose to #BETHEDIFFERENCE in the lives of our youth experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness and purchase a Box of Hope.
There is more hope than you can imagine in a single box.
Our Boxes of Hope campaign provides gift packages at Christmas to youth who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in our community.
Residents can purchase a box for $50.
Funds raised from each purchase will be used to buy items that our youth need including gift cards, gloves, winter hats, hygiene products, toiletries, bus tokens, and more!
In 2019, our Boxes of Hope campaign raised over $17,000. 2020 has proven to be a challenging year because of COVID-19, with youth and staff uprooted from the Barrie shelter to a hotel for their health and safety. Our outreach teams in Barrie, Orillia and across Simcoe County continue to maintain contact with at-risk youth while practicing physical distancing.
Christmas may look very different this year. But what hasn’t changed is the needs of our youth in the communities we serve.
1 in 3 people using emergency shelter services in Barrie-Orillia-Simcoe County are youth.
“Thank you for choosing to #bethedifference.”
