Youth Haven Barrie is pleased to announce that BarrieToday.com has come onboard as a media sponsor of the 2018 Coldest Night of the Year.

The Coldest Night of the Year is a fun, family-friendly fundraiser that raises money for local charities serving hungry, homeless and hurting families and youth in 120 communities across Canada. In the past three years,  corporate and individual participants have raised over $100,000,  making Coldest Night of the Year the largest annual fundraiser for Youth Haven,  allowing the emergency shelter to continue its counseling, outreach, life skills, and other programs/services for youth between the ages of 16 and 24 who are experiencing homelessness in Simcoe County.

Youth Haven’s fourth annual Coldest Night of the Year walk is Saturday, February 24th, beginning at City Hall, with 2 km, 5km, and 10km routes through the City of Barrie.

“The support of local media is critical to the success of the Coldest Night of the Year.  We are grateful to Barrie Today for their coverage of issues important to Youth Haven and their commitment to support local youth who are experiencing homeless through the sponsorship of this event,” said Lucy Gowers,  Youth Haven Executive Director.
