BOXES OF HOPE CAMPAIGN RAISES OVER $55,000 TO HELP YOUTH EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS

In a year that was challenging for all of us, Youth Haven is grateful to the generosity of so many individuals, service clubs, businesses, and schools that contributed to our Boxes of Hope campaign, helping to raise $55,795.

“Your generosity and support of our Boxes of Hope campaign has totally overwhelmed us and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” said Lucy Gowers, Youth Haven executive director.
“Youth Haven is grateful for our incredibly generous and caring community! We are proud that so many have chosen to be the difference. Thank you for making our 2020 Boxes of Hope Campaign a success!”

Money raised from the purchase of a $50 box was used to buy Christmas gifts for youth in emergency care, transitional programming, and outreach services.

“With the donations, we were able to buy gift cards, hygiene products, toiletries, clothing, winter boots and hats,  bus tokens and other items for our youth,,” said Gowers. “Our youth received the best gift of all…..hope. For youth who bravely seek our services, this means the world.”
Youth Haven’s emergency shelter is in Barrie, with outreach services for youth in Barrie, Orillia, and Simcoe County.  One in three people using emergency shelter services in our region are youth.

Thank you for choosing to #bethedifference.
