Halloween Fun in Support of Youth Haven!

Face Your Fear this weekend at a spooky Haunted House & Halloween Maze in Barrie!

This is a FREE all ages Halloween party with games, prizes food, and a haunted maze. located at the Barrie Masonic Lodge (99 Morrow Road).  It runs both Saturday, October 20th and Sunday, October 21st from 10 AM to 5 PM.  Organizers will be accepting donations for Youth Haven throughout the weekend.

This fun, family event has been run by the Leadership Class at Eastview Secondary School for the past eight years.  Every year, the class picks a local charity to support.  We spoke with one of the event organizers, Noah Bloom, to find out what motivated the class to support Youth Haven with this year’s event.

“We chose Youth Haven as this year’s charity because this event is put on for the youth of Barrie, and we felt that it should benefit other young people in our community.   Our class recognizes that homeless youth is an important issue that needs to be addressed within the Barrie community.  We hope this raises both awareness of Youth Haven and money for the important work that it does.” – Noah Bloom, Eastview Secondary School Leadership Class

Noah wouldn’t tell us if she had a costume picked out for this weekend, but we did get her to reveal what she loves most about Halloween.

“What I love most about Halloween is that you have the freedom to be anything you want.  When I was younger, I always chose the most bizarre costumes.  When everyone else was dressing up as kitty cats or princesses, I went out trick or treating as roadkill! Halloween gives people the ability to express themselves, and have fun with it!  Plus, you get candy, which is never a bad thing!”

Thank you to Noah and the entire Eastview Leadership Class for your support of Youth Haven!  For more information about this weekend’s scary activities, please visit their Facebook page.

If you can’t make it out to Eastview’s Spooky Fundraiser, please consider making a donation to Youth Haven online.

Happy Halloween, everyone!
