Woman answers the call to stock Youth Haven’s Orillia location with needed supplies

Did you know Youth Haven has outreach teams in communities across Simcoe County? In Orillia, collaboration is key, as Youth Haven works closely with other local organizations to assist the most vulnerable. As well, the community has been there for us every step of the way, choosing to #BeTheDifference.

Andie Brown is one of those people. She spotted a Youth Haven Instagram post from Jennifer Morrison, who provides outreach to youth in the Orillia-area, alerting the public to a need for personal hygiene products, not just for Youth Haven Orillia but The Sharing Place Food Centre and Uplifting Blessings, which provides Blessing Bags to people who are experiencing homelessness, necessities such as food, water and hygiene products.

Andie shared the post on her Instagram account and the floodgates opened. Andie dropped of a car packed with footwear, children’s clothing, youth/adult clothing, bedding, art therapy supplies, basic need supplies, and according to Jennifer, many, many boxes of personal hygiene products. She told Jennifer that she plans return with more items! What doesn’t get used at Youth Haven will be distributed to other organizations in Orillia.

A shout out to Bre Plue, program director of Couchiching Jubilee House, and Nicole Sholer of the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre Simcoe Muskoka, which has also supplied Youth Haven with a large number of personal hygiene products.

To everyone in the Orillia-area who has chosen to #BeTheDifference in the lives of our youth. Thank you!
