Community Leaders Needed!

2-5 hours per month

Board Responsibility:

• Establishing strategic and policy direction
• Commitment to the strategic plan, vision, mission, and values of Youth Haven
• Providing for excellent governance leadership and decision making
• Fiduciary oversight and accountability

Director Responsibilities

• Attends Board meetings and functions
• Prepares for meetings and events, contributes expertise, advise and informed perspective to discussions and decisions
• Supports Youth Haven’s fundraising initiatives
• Complies with Youth Haven’s policies and by-laws
• Makes a personal philanthropic contribution and introductions through personal and professional networks

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of Youth Haven
• Board/governance experience an asset
• Understanding community strengths and acknowledge local issues
• This year we are seeking candidates in some or all of the following areas, but not limited to:
  •      Understanding and connection to our indigenous communities
  •      Experience with coordinating and supporting fundraising
  •      Experience with leading financial and accounting oversight
  •      Personal connection to homelessness

Commitment

• Contribute 2-5 hours per month for board activities and/or committee meetings.
