YOUTH ROLL UP THEIR SLEEVES FOR A JAB

The staff at Youth Haven want to give a shout-out to our youth who took the time to educate themselves and read the information provided to them about the COVID-19 vaccines.
21 out of 25 youth in emergency care and transitional housing chose to be vaccinated.

Thank you to the doctors from the RVH Family Medicine Teaching Unit who volunteered to administer the Moderna vaccine to our youth 18 and older, and thank you to Emergency Management from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit who arranged for our youth aged 16 and 17 to receive the Pfizer vaccine.

People residing in Congregate Living Facilities, such as homeless shelters, are eligible to be vaccinated due to the vulnerability of residing with changing clientele with unknown exposure risks, and those living in shelters are considered more vulnerable due to a variety of other factors including underlying health conditions.

All new residents who come to emergency or transitional care will also be given the option as to whether they want to be immunized.
